Anything else for me to try out? I've been thinking... It could be that the bug appeared because of an update to the video drivers in the xorg-edgers repository I'm using. Some Ubuntu-specific modification to the kernel, which isn't present in the mainline kernel, doesn't go well with the current xorg-edgers video drivers (or at least the video drivers at the time at which I did the kernel update). That would explain why I didn't see the bug with an earlier version of the 3.5 kernel, because it wouldn't show itself before the video driver update.
Current version of "xserver-xorg-video-radeon" (part of the "xserver-xorg-video-ati" set) in xorg-edgers is: 1:6.99.99+git20120928.e8cb0b72-0ubuntu0sarvatt The driver version in the main Quantal repositories is: 1:6.99.99~git20120913.8637f772-0ubuntu1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1057532 Title: Monitor goes black ("no signal") after Grub, comes back to life when X starts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1057532/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
