Great, so from all these tests, we could say that the faulty commit is:

  be05980 drm/radeon: do not reenable crtc after moving vram start
address

(it could also be a combination of these 3 commits...)

So, I've built a (final??) test kernel that contains only:

  be05980 drm/radeon: do not reenable crtc after moving vram start
address

and reverts:
  899d1d5 drm/radeon: fix bank tiling parameters on cayman
  8b4d42b drm/radeon: fix bank tiling parameters on evergreen

All going well, this kernel should *fail* :-)
