Public bug reported:

I have tried various ubuntu and lubuntu versions with this same problem
that occurs right after bootup:

Computer crashes (locks up; freezes). I have to reboot by using the
power off button. Then, the only way I can boot into ubuntu is by first
going through the recovery mode option from the boot options screen.

What usually allows me to boot into ubuntu, use programs, and go onto
the internet is, in recovery mode, I first choose "fsck"; then "dpkg";
then "resume normal boot". Then instead of logging onto ubuntu (username
and password), I click the "shutdown" button on the lower right side of
the screen and choose "reboot".

I then let the computer reoot into the loginn screen on my desktop. This
works sometimes, but frequentl crashes again.

I run ubuntu 12.04 LTS ,LXDE desktop. As I stated, I've tried several
different distros, with the same problem re-occurring.

I've asked this same question on Launchpad.net several times with no
fix, and eventually staff on Launchpad.net expires my question (after
not responding for awhile).

Please help and/or direct me to the proper website to fix this problem.
I'm not even sure if I am on the correct website here to fix my problem.
