Binary package hint: volumeid
Running vol_id as a standard (non-root) user reports the message "error
open volume" for valid filesystems. Running it as root works as
expected. The error message is incorrect and misleading.
Example:
vol_id /dev/hda1
/dev/hda1: error open volume
sudo vol_id /dev/hda1
ID_FS_USAGE=...
ID_FS_TYPE=...
ID_FS_VERSION=...
ID_FS_UUID=...
ID_FS_LABEL=...
ID_FS_LABEL_SAFE=...
