This is some time ago, so my memory is incomplete ... I was trying to setup an existing 32-bit dynamic link executable to work in my then 64-bit installation.
The executable depends on the 32-bit library libXdmcp.so, and whatever version of the complained about file /usr/lib32/libXdmcp.so.tar was downloaded from an online repo, somewhere ... Which is why I reported it ... As libXdmcp.so both 64-bit and 32-bit are part of the standard repos, there has [or had] to be a repo problem somewhere. As my laptop, with the problem installation has now died, this bug report is now moot ! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982443 Title: ldconfig reports /usr/lib/libXdmcp.so.tar is not an ELF file - wrong magic bytes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eglibc/+bug/982443/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
