@Brian happens to me, closer to 28 seconds ~$ cat /etc/lsb-release DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=12.10 DISTRIB_CODENAME=quantal DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu quantal (development branch)" ~$ uname -a Linux Compaq-Presario-CQ60 3.6.1-030601-generic #201210071322 SMP Sun Oct 7 17:23:28 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux also happens on kernel 3.5 i just checked for upates and installed them and it took 17 seconds
