Public bug reported:

This is a regression.

Seen on 3 different machines, so confirming immediately.

I'm not sure whether this relates to the kernel or to main Linux
utilities, but this behaviour seems to relate to the latest updates to :
3.5.0-17-generic (either 32 or 64 bits)

Since, on 3 machines, "df" and "mount" seems unable to determine the
device for the mounted root filesystem, i.e. :

# df -h / /boot /home
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
- 913G 275G 609G 32% /
/dev/sda2 1,1G 455M 567M 45% /boot
/dev/mapper/VG1-BTR_POOL 913G 275G 609G 32% /home

# mount | egrep "[[:space:]]/(boot|home)?[[:space:]]"
/dev/sda2 on /boot type btrfs
(rw,relatime,subvol=UBUNTU/@boot,space_cache,autodefrag)
/dev/mapper/VG1-BTR_POOL on /home type btrfs
(rw,relatime,subvol=UBUNTU/@home,space_cache,autodefrag,compress=lzo)

...where /proc/mounts shows it :

# egrep "[[:space:]]/(boot|home)?[[:space:]]" /proc/mounts
rootfs / rootfs rw 0 0
/dev/mapper/VG1-BTR_POOL / btrfs
rw,relatime,compress=lzo,space_cache,autodefrag 0 0
/dev/sda2 /boot btrfs rw,relatime,space_cache,autodefrag 0 0
/dev/mapper/VG1-BTR_POOL /home btrfs
rw,relatime,compress=lzo,space_cache,autodefrag 0 0
