Public bug reported: I tried to build the ubuntu bzr repository (bzr branch lp:ubuntu/ghostscript) with ghostscript, but I get the following output:
<snip> dh_fixperms -plibgs-dev dh_makeshlibs -plibgs-dev dh_compress -pghostscript-dbg dh_fixperms -pghostscript-dbg dh_installdeb -pghostscript dh_perl -pghostscript dh_shlibdeps -pghostscript dpkg-shlibdeps: error: couldn't find library libc.so.6 needed by debian/ghostscript/usr/bin/gs (ELF format: 'elf64-x86-64'; RPATH: ''). dpkg-shlibdeps: error: Cannot continue due to the error above. Note: libraries are not searched in other binary packages that do not have any shlibs or symbols file. To help dpkg-shlibdeps find private libraries, you might need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH. dh_shlibdeps: dpkg-shlibdeps -Tdebian/ghostscript.substvars debian/ghostscript/usr/bin/gs returned exit code 2 make: *** [binary-predeb-IMPL/ghostscript] Error 2 dpkg-buildpackage: error: fakeroot debian/rules binary gave error exit status 2 debuild: fatal error at line 1350: dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -D -us -uc -j7 -i -b failed There are also lots of warnings in the output about deprecated features, which suggests that this isn't actually being maintained. Can't you do some automatic tests and publish the command you use to build these packages? ** Affects: ghostscript (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1064277 Title: Failure to build ghostscript To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ghostscript/+bug/1064277/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
