Also - I don't see that anyone asked this before-

This doesn't sound like the ideal place for feature requests, if that's
all that this qualifies as (though I think it deserves attention
wherever it can get it).  If this is not the ideal place, where should
this be requested to get the proper attention as a feature request for
Canonical's infrastructure? (and it really isn't a request just for the
security repos; Canonical should be making progress towards adding IPv6
connectivity to all of its sites/infrastructure)
