With gnome-power-manager running, brightness down does not function (it
looks like it goes down one level then back up again).
Brightness up sometimes works, sometimes shows similar behaviour,
sometimes will go up rapidly when fn-home is pressed.
The keys function as normal/expected if gpm is not running.
This sounds quite similar (not not exactly the same as) bug #81407
We're also seeing this behavior on an X60.
+
+ This is on the gutsy Tribe2 release gnome-power-manager 2.19.3-0ubuntu2
