I'm having the same problem (client-side) after trying to copy a few hundred megabytes to a NFS (non-ubuntu) server. NFS is essentially useless as the transfers stall and it happens with even "light usage".
This only happens with recent kernels. 3.2.0-30-generic is the last kernel that works for me.
