Public bug reported:
Pitivi has the following listed as SUGGESTS:
gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
As such, they are not installed. They should really be included as
DEPENDENCIES. Without them, Pitivi cannot work with (if I recall
correctly) mpegs and avis, both of which are popular media formats.
Linux experts will eventually find that out, but a regular user would
not, sending Pitivi to the trash. It is bad for Pitivi & Ubuntu... just
another piece of software in the repos that does not work! Frustrating &
Not user friendly...
This is very easy to solve & hard disk size & bandwidth is not a issue
nowadays. Another bug was filed about gstreamer0.10-alsa!
Pitivi really needs to install everything most users need.
Thanks.
