Public bug reported:
This a fresh installation of the lamp stack.
The installation of phpmyadmin failed. After several minutes (at least
10 minutes) the progress bar on the software center seemed frozen.
Closing and reopening the software center still showed the same 'hung'
state.
Finally I had to <killall -u "MyUserName"> and log back in. But even
then I could not reinstall it or remove it. The software center hangs
again.
