rkrizan, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you
please boot into a Ubuntu repo kernel, and execute the following at a terminal:
apport-collect 874777

Joesph Salisbury, I'll remark duplicate of bug 836250 after apport-
collect and OR found to be using iwlagn.

** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 836250
8086:4238 [Oneiric] [Regression] Intel Corporation Centrino Ultimate-N 6300
poor networking, packet loss and very slow Lenovo X201 and T500 laptops

** Description changed:

While upgrading 2 separate laptops from Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10, one being
a Dell E1505 with an Intel 4965 card, the other being a Dell 1545 with a
WiFi Link 5100 card, both suffer from nearly null wireless speeds. Both
computers will connect to the network just fine, however, wireless
speeds are terrible. Connecting directly to router via Cat5E cable and
disabling wireless results in normal speeds.

- Both machines had kernels upgraded to latest mainstream kernels, and problem
persisted. I had to revert both machines back to 11.04.
