Following the upgrade from 3.2.0-31-generic to 3.2.0-32-generic I now
experience problems when resuming from suspend mode.
Behaviour:
With 3.2.0-31-generic I experience stable behaviour and used the suspend
functionality regularly. Following the upgrade the suspend will attempt
a resume but the system becomes unstable. It may either remain on a
blank screen, switch to a blank screen with cursor, or show kernel
logging errors. Following this, using ctrl-F8 (I think) will sometimes
switch back to X but the system is unstable. In one case I was able to
start a shutdown - which did not complete. In another case the graphics
output became garbled and I was not able to initiate a shutdown.
The problem seems completely reproducible, even if the details of the
symptoms are sometimes slightly different. Additionally, if I simply
reboot with 3.2.0-31 the problem is avoided, so it does seem strictly
related to the kernel (or module) changes.
Please note, I do boot up with:
acpi_sleep=nonvs
added to the kernel paramenters which was required for the Sony Vaio VGN-FW57GH.
