Public bug reported:

I am running Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS

  $ lsb_release -rd
  Description:  Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS
  Release:      10.04

The machine is a fit-pc2 (http://www.fit-pc.com/web/fit-pc/fit-
pc2-specifications/).

My kernel is:

  $ uname -srv
  Linux 2.6.32-44-generic #98-Ubuntu SMP Mon Sep 24 17:32:45 UTC 2012

The machine has both a Gigabit Ethernet interface (eth0) and a WLAN
interface (wlan0). I am only using the LAN interface (eth0).

When copying data using rsync from another machine also using Gigabit
Ethernet to my Ubuntu server, e.g. like this

  $rsync -avz src/ server:~/dst/

the Ubuntu server is hung after approximately 10 seconds. It no longer
responds to pings or any other network requests and existing ssh
sessions are disconnected. On the machine itself it appears completely
frozen. If I am running a task that updates the screen (e.g. running
'ping') the screen is no longer updated. It does not respond to keyboard
input and I cannot switch to another text terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1). All I
can do is rebooting the machine.

If I copy data to the machine at a lower rate – e.g. by running rsync
from a machine on a 802.11g WLAN connected to the same LAN as the Ubuntu
server – the operation succeeds without hanging the Ubuntu server.

The bug report was created using "ubuntu-bug linux" on the system after
rebooting the machine.
