I tried out some kernels that were already on my PC to find out when suspend worked, as I do not remember precisly when it stopped working. Since kernel 3.2.0-17 suspend does not work.
As my PC has a linux kernel with the capability of "/sys/power/pm_trace I tried out this: sudo sh -c "sync; echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_trace; pm-suspend" After launching this in my terminal, my PC just shutdown without suspending, the power LED did non blink. When I pressed the power button my PC just did a normal boot and did not recover from suspension. I am attaching the dmesg file after this test, in this file after the "Magic number" entry I do not find any hash matches entries. Usually my PC looks like it has suspended, the power LED blinks, when I press the power button, the HD LED blinks a bit but then my PC freezes, can't do anything but press the power button again to switch it on. ** Attachment added: "dmesg.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1059037/+attachment/3398166/+files/dmesg-2.txt ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1059037 Title: suspend/resume does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1059037/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
