I have a system (Latitude E6530) that came with 11.10 preinstalled. I have since then upgraded it to 12.04. The touchpad works fine but I can only configure it throgh an application named GlidePoint Touchpad (glidepoint in apt), not via System Settings.
Now I am trying to make a fresh install on a new disk and have experienced the same problem as mentioned here. I thought I would be able to get hold of the glidepoint package from Dell but I cannot find it. The guys at Dell seem to know about this since they can deliver a working system. Just thought that I should mention this as I have not found it in any other place. Will also try the solution in #212 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/606238 Title: synaptic touchpad not recognized on dell latitude e6510 and others To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/606238/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
