There are a few things that need updating: * this should target precise-proposed, not precise * the version should be 3.1.7-2ubuntu1.1 as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates * there is an undocumented change to debian/source/options. I see why you want to do this, but it doesn't seem to work because of the upstream Debian changes in debian-changes-3.1.7-2 that add config.guess and config.sub. I've updated debian-changes-3.1.7-2 to not add config.guess and config.sub and this seems to work.
