I face a related bug with Precise, kernel 3.2.0-32-generic #51-Ubuntu SMP, x86_64: [drm:intel_dsm_pci_probe] *ERROR* failed to get supported _DSM functions ; from syslog
In about 1 of 5 cases, it causes the system to hang for ca. 10 seconds during boot. The boot screen stays black up to the messages which I can find in boot.log later on. I couldn't change this via Plymouth (~>https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Plymouth). If that hang occurs, I get a crash report for fingerprint-helper (->https://launchpad.net/~fingerprint/+archive/fingerprint- gui?field.series_filter=precise), but Wolfgang Ullrich didn't find anything referring to his software.
