I don't have too much time right now but I did the test with previous kernels 3.2 (leftover from Precise) and 3.4 and here's the results:
- 3.2: sound works fine, even after many suspends - 3.4: system hangs at lightdm stage (no response at all), just before the usual Ubuntu sound theme is played it seems.
