Like I said above, mine now skips much less frequently than every 10 minutes, so I'm skeptical about tweaking any pulse configs at this point. And since all I did to have it skip less frequently was re- install pulseaudio and update to all the latest precise packages, it seems like the issue is somewhere in the interaction between pulse and the kernel or hardware or the system in general.
If there's a way I can test using the "wakeup_rt tracer" I'm happy to do so. Is there any documentation I can read about doing so?
