Detailed description of the problem: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1993489 Tested versions to fail: Precise, Oneiric, Lucid (with backported 3.x kernel), both 32Bit and 64Bit. Tested versions to work: Maverick, Lucid (with standard 2.6.x kernel). It seems to be an Ubuntu specific problem though, since OpenSuse 12.1 with 3.x kernel works fine. Unfortunately, I can't attach any log files since the system freezes in the first quarter of the second after selecting the Grub entry. A photo of the boot messages is attached.
