I can't be sure of course (as just because something hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't happen; and I don't know why the damn thing happened in the first place so I can't reproduce the exact situation) but it seems like the generic 3.6 kernel does not have the problem.
It seems to have another problem, that is my sound works fine, and then for some reason stops...
