oh my can we mark this as solved it's not a bug actually the spdif was
turned off by default during the startup in ubuntu 12.10 i solved it by
opening the alsamixer on the terminal and pressing M did turned on the
spdif.

  sound and everything is working except the red light is not liten up on
  my laptop same issue with ubuntu 10.10 but was corrected on 12.04. the
  problem is not listed on the apport-bug still i attached the test
- result. already tested on windows 7 and ubuntu 12.04 red light is
- working but not on quantal.
