Just to clarify: Ubuntu LTS 12.04 just downloaded yesterday has
inoperative WLAN. The sensitivity is so bad the laptop can only be used
within 6 feet of the AP. When within 3-6 feet WLAN seems to work, but it
is unuseable for practical use.
