Philipp Trommler, if you uninstall fglrx, do you still get a kernel
panic in the Ubuntu repository?

** Tags removed: apport-collected

** Description changed:

Sometimes, circa three times of ten, kernel panics on shutdown.
Before, shutdown just stucked, with no error messages or blinking lights on
the keyboard. Now, for some reasons, all the shutdown messages are laid on top
of the purple screen (where the "Ubuntu" letters and the points are in some
strange "ubuntu-mono" style now, but that seems to be another problem) ending
up in a kernel panic stack trace.

Maybe a duplicate of "Random kernel panic at shutdown" (#820546), but
didn't know, as there are only few similarities.
