I guess at least the fact that the mouse's battery is listed as laptop battery is a bug. Now, while it is indeed useful to be able to know the state of the mouse's battery, showing it on the panel by default is couterintuitive. There shoule be a mouse icon right next to the battery, or some other visual cue to indicate that the battery currently shown is not the laptop's.
