Please copy and paste (verbatim) the following commands into a
Terminal/Konsole:
kill $(lsof -t /dev/dsp* /dev/audio* /dev/mixer* /dev/seq* /dev/snd/*) ;
sudo modprobe -r snd_hda_intel && sudo modprobe snd_hda_intel
probe_mask=8 model=ref && aplay /usr/share/sounds/*up.wav
If audio remains inaudible, then repeat the above command, replacing the
number in the probe_mask parameter. Valid values to test are in the 0-9
range.
