Public bug reported:
The Ubuntu Wiki page GitKernelBuild steps appears partially obsolete (at
least for Ubuntu 12.10 and Kernel 3.7)
I was able to use a built Kernel while omitting steps:
7) Edit scripts/setlocalversion and comment out the line "echo " [...]
12) You now need to make the new kernel bootable. [...]
Step 7) alone is already obsolete w/ Ubuntu 12.04 and Kernel 3.6, didn't
try omitting step 12) back then.
