The German language packs cannot be installed. "Broken packages" are
being reported, though none seem to exist. Possibly cicular
dependencies?
~$ sudo apt-get -f install language-pack-de

Obviously, the "-f" parameter to apt-get did not fix any broken
packages, and Synaptic also does not show any broken packages.
Attempts to force-install older versions of both packages also resulted
in "broken packages" errors, though broken packages were never seen in
Synaptic
