Christian, First I thought that what you said about Taiwan was a joke, but I just saw it in the files... That's controversial indeed! The Bengali/Bangla issue isn't controversial at all in a similar sense, if I understand it correctly.
The possible compromise you mention would be a really good solution to this issue. Those who object (if any) may just ignore the common_name field, right? I'd really appreciate if you could make that change upstream.
