So this is the Excel file that triggered the problem. On the attached screenshot you can see that the window's main bar doesn't display the menu if you hover the mouse over it. Actions causing the window to repaint don't help either. Until now I was unable to identify the action that triggers this behaviour, it seems to be quite random...
