Daniel, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, your instructions do
not work for me.

The /var/crash/ folder contains only one file that looks like the right
one:

/var/crash/_usr_bin_compiz.1000.crash

I tried opening from Nautilus and your manual method, both with and without 
sudo.
sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_usr_bin_compiz.1000.crash

In all three cases, I get a window that prompts, "Send an error report
to help fix this problem." Whether I select "Leave Closed" or
"Relaunch", nothing else happens. (Of course, I do ensure that the
checkbox is ticked.)

What else can I do to help diagnose this?
