Sure, I'd be glad to test it.

Subject: [Bug 1070108] Re: No way to keep kernel from hibernating machine
Date: Tue, Oct 23, 2012 08:13

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.7 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both
the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages.

Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-
upstream-testing' tag. Please only remove that one tag and leave the
other tags. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next
to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the
'needs-upstream-testing' text.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot,
please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Title:
No way to keep kernel from hibernating machine

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When setting up power setting for my laptop I can only control if the
system suspends or stays active. However after some period of time
the kernel hibernates the system. This normally isn't an issue until
I need to download large packages or performing actions that I want
running overnight with internet access. Then after about 4 hours the
kernel will hibernate and close all TCPIP ports. I have had two
processes meant to run overnight with internet access that could got
killed because the port was closed.

Impact is more for long running transactions -- and while this is
typically only a server situation there are people that needs
overnight processes. Example: a 9 hour download that I start when I
go to bed and expect to have done when I wake up in the morning.

Suggested approach : Enhance the power management with another level
  of management:

Time until screen is turned off
  Time until suspend
  Time until hibernate

Workaround : I have found no area where I can set or disable
  hibernation so no workaround. :(

Repro: A good application for this is Eve Online Get it running under Ubuntu
Get online and have it all running then take a ship out and do
some long task like mining
Let it run and walk away -- let the screen go black and give
it a bit more time to hibernate.
Have a beer. visit the cute brunette down the hall.
After letting it sit long enough when you stir the mouse and
get the screen back you will
get a report from Eve that the port has been closed.

You can also repro this by downloading the Ubuntu 12.10 over a
wireless connection and go to bed. Sleep, dream, have a beer, visit
the cute brunette, wake up and realize it was all a dream and then see
  that your download was stopped.

Go visit the cute brunette crying and win her heart because she thinks
  you are so sensitive.
