I'm using now Ubuntu 13.04 dev with plymouth 0.8.4-0ubuntu3 and have
made a look into /var/log/kern.log. It contains the line: Oct 25
22:37:09 ubuntu kernel: <12>[ 28.842041] init: plymouth-stop pre-start
process (1218) terminated with status 1
