Workaround:
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Alt+F2 to summon the command panel, then type ccsm, hit enter
A warning will pop up about how ccsm is an advanced tool, dismiss the
warning
Under the "General" heading, go to "Composite"
Pick "Unredirect Fullscreen Windows"
After you select this Unity may or may not restart, it's okay since the
setting will be applied automatically anyway.
