Was unable to installed git via apt-get as a result of this bug.

$ apt-get install git
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree       
Reading state information... Done
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:

 git : Depends: liberror-perl but it is not going to be installed
       Depends: git-man (> 1:1.7.10.4) but it is not going to be installed
       Depends: git-man (< 1:1.7.10.4-.) but it is not going to be installed
 libqtgui4:i386 : Depends: libtiff5:i386 (> 4.0.0-1~) but it is not going to be 
installed
 libtiff4:i386 : Depends: libjbig0:i386 but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a 
solution).

The suggested 'apt-get -f install' fixed this.

$ apt-get -f install
...
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  gcc-4.6-base:i386 libcelt0-0 libtiff4:i386 libx264-120
  packagekit-backend-aptcc
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following extra packages will be installed:
  libjbig0:i386 libtiff5:i386

  libjbig0:i386 libtiff5:i386
