I love the irony in this bug report. We're trying to get Unity to stop
keeping apps like Rhythmbox running when they're closed, and here we are
trying to get Thunderbird to keep going :)

Normally adding new software to the CD is outwith the scope of a paper
cut, but in this case it seems like it will be beneficial, and certainly
a lot easier than patching TB to do this itself. I'll take this into the
Ubuntu Desktop and Development mailing lists and see what they think.
