Hello Dave, I have a NP300E5C laptop (this one http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B008AHF8VG/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01 ) I used a usb stick. I did not select EFI anywhere (in fact I don't know what it is). The thumb drive was first in the boot order in the BIOS. That's about it. I don't know what Samsung will say about that, I don't even what to say when I'll call them. I shouldn't mention ubuntu right ? I'll certainly erase the disk before I sent the unit anyway.
