I don't know why it isn't available as .deb file in
http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/pending-sru.html

I was unable to installed from -proposed, however I've downloaded the
patched version and rebuild it in a pbuilder environment, and then test
it in Ubuntu 12.04 and it works

$ cat /etc/issue
Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS \n \l

$ zless /usr/share/doc/samba4/changelog.Debian.gz | head

samba4 (4.0.0~alpha18.dfsg1-4ubuntu3) precise-proposed; urgency=high

  * Various fixes to updating of local config for Samba 4:

  * Add 09_python_mod_version: Fix FTBFS when python-tdb 0.9.10 is installed.

Not sure, what need to be done to move it to -proposed so more people
could be able to test it.
