** Description changed: my wifi card RTL8187B crashes on xubuntu 12.04 when trying to use my webcam Chicony Electronics and when it crashes both wifi and webcam and only way to get it working again is to reboot the machine. + + the BIOS is at 2.0 and didin't change anything. + My router is an Cisco linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G Firmware Version: v4.20.6 + The encryption type is open. + QoS is disabled. + MAC filtering is disabled. + Beacon Interval (Range: 1 - 65535): (Default) 100 Milliseconds. + The WiFi connection type I am using 802.11g, and it only supports B/G. + No other WiFi device tested with the AP has the same the problem. Only my laptop Toshiba Satellite A210 PSAFGC-MS408C. + The distance of the WiFi device from AP is less than 60ft down from the top of my house. The only thing it is passing though is wood floors and the distance to AP doesn't matter for the problem. + I have not tested this problem with different APs. + It's a regression from ubuntu 9.04 before that in 8.04/8.10 this wifi webcam problem never existed and worked fine could use my built in webcam and wifi without crashing both of them. WORKAROUND: Blacklist uvcvideo and use another webcam like an Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Express it doesn't crash kernel using Ubuntu 3.2.0-29.46-generic 3.2.24.
