I have experienced this same issue, and could also unmute the audio. Sometimes
it was the input that was muted and sometimes the output. Upon changing to
unmuted, I could hear audio again. Now i'm experiencing something different
though. After weeks of having to adjust the audio every time I turn on my
computer, now not even unmuting the input and output audios am I able to hear
audio. Perhaps this info will help some:
