I confirm the above-mentioned problems with the Dash in 12.10. I turned
off the blur and disabled the Amazon ads, which seems to improve
performance a bit. Until at some point the Dash causes the CPU to rise.
Population of the Dash takes >20 seconds, type lag of 2 seconds,
occasionally the key that I happened to press at that moment causes
repeated entries (e.g. "kileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...").
IBM Thinkpad T60, 3 GB memory, dual boot with Windows 7, graphic card:
