I re-installed the whole ubuntu-12.10-desktop-amd64.iso onto the Hewlett
Packard EliteBook 8560w. Installation was again successful and reboot
successfully. I did an OS software update and rebooted again. No issue here.
From a terminal screen, I run apport-collect 1073442 and the following
ERROR:The launchpadlib python module is not installed. This functionality is
not available. Please show me the procedure to install python as I am a
beginner and has no ideas how to do it. I type "whereis python" in the
terminal screen and there are quite a few python file location.
After this I did another reboot and there is no issue again. I was quite
happy. I did another reboot and the blank screen came back with the following
errors.

[drm]nouveau 0000:01:00.0:Failed to idle channel 3
[drm]nouveau 0000:01:00.0:GPU lockup-switching to software fbcom
[drm]nouveau 0000:01:00.0:Failed to idle channel 1
[drm]nouveau 0000:01:00.0:Failed to idle channel 2
Please advice and show me the steps to fix this. Hope to hear from
