That is the idea behind gnome-app-install: Abstract the packages on a an
application level. But the package's name and its version can be found
in the last line of the description.

I don't want the user to be aware that there is some documentation
deeply hidden in the directory structure. The documentation should be
included and accessible within the application itself. If the
information found in /usr/share/doc is of such importance we should
think more about a yelp integration.

I always like to get some input and comments on gnome-app-install.
