ok I reinstalled ubuntu 12.04 (all works correct again, except the lan-cable bug). (There were no prior bugs on the system.)
I was now able to make a ssh connection (before, i had some information deficits to do this). I captured the error message over a connected other laptop. But i don't know if this is the error message from the sick machine, or just a message, that the connection broke - as impact of pulling out the lan cable of the sick machine, which is the only option to reproduce the crash. Before i connected over ssh, i deacitvated the lan connection (not the wireless lan connection) over the network manager on the sick machine. I tried to force a wireless connection between the two computers (the connection runs maybe over a router). I will make the BIOS update in some days with the help of a friend. by the way: The bug occours also on Fedora 17 Thank you for your help! ** Attachment added: "captured error message" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1053022/+attachment/3420931/+files/captured%20error%20message.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1053022 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 crashes if lan cable is pulled out from emachines laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1053022/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
