Public bug reported:
Upgraded via Upgrade Manager to gutsy. Since then I'm seeing VERY poor
performance with my broadcom 4306 rev 2 wireless card.
Where I previously had decent if not great range, and good speeds, I'm
now seeing useful range restricted to a few meters, and with speeds
often maxing out at under 40 kB/s, where I previously had no problem
achieving 400+.
Possibly related, after upgrade, the 'Firmware for Broadcom 43xx chipset
family' Item appeared in the Restricted Drivers Manager.
Although I was already using bcm43xx under feisty, this item was *not*
marked enabled. Perhaps unwisely, I checked the box to enable it and
it's now enabled and in use. Perhaps there is now some conflict, or I
replaced the firmware i was using under feisty with something inferior?
