It's interesting. I created a new system account, login to ubuntu, configure the uoa, start the empathy, it works. If I login using my own system account created long ago, I configure the uoa and run empathy, empathy can't get my settings.
I have uploaded a attachment, comparison.tar.gz, where I have the empathy-debugger logs for both situations.
