Public bug reported:
I have a strange problem on my Laptop NIC, i use it for hours, and
suddenly it just stops working. A shutdown and reboot helps.
It is a:
00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82567LM Gigabit Network
Connection (rev 03)
connected to a Buffalo wzr-hp-g300h gigabit router.
The problem is on my laptop because on the same router, my other laptop is just
working fine.
When ethernet stops working, i recognize following messages in the syslog:
Nov 3 12:27:54 rocinante NetworkManager[1447]: <info> (eth0): carrier now OFF
(device state 100, deferring action for 4 seconds)

Then, ethtool eth0 still reports the link is up, but i don't get a dhcp
lease from my router. See also that TX packets increase while asking for
a lease, but RX packets don't:

There's a similar bug report in the Intel community site, don't know if
it's related: http://communities.intel.com/thread/31223
I tried manually setting the advertised link capabilities to 100 full, but that
doesn't help neither.
i also tried " pcie_aspm=off" as suggested on another site but no progress with
that neither.
